Question by Shay: How can you safely remove a designer name from the side of eyeglass frames?
I got some new glasses and didn’t realize they had the designer’s name in white letters down each side of the frame. Is there a way I can safely remove the lettering without damaging my frames? THANKS!
By the way, the glasses are black coated metal frames.

I would take them to an eyeglass store (maybe where you bought them) and let them see if they can remove it. I would not think you can without some kind of damage.

I wouldn’t try anyones home remedies — I would call the place where you bought them and ask them for suggestions. I’m sure they’ll know what to do. **Luck**

Use a black Sharpie marker. The name will be there, but you won’t notice it.
Try wiping the name down with rubbing alcohol. If they are “printed” through a process known as tampo printing or screen printing, this should take it off. It is also gentle enough that it won’t destroy the glasses.
